The boxy xB has been Scion's cornerstone model with the broadest appeal among buyers. The xB is powered by a 158-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, with a five-speed manual transmission. Every xB is equipped with 16-inch wheels, air conditioning, power mirrors and windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, a satellite-compatible 160-watt Pioneer audio system with MP3 capability, and an auxiliary audio input jack for portable music devices; a rear liftgate provides access to a generous cargo area with approximately 70 cubic feet of capacity. Standard safety features include a vehicle stability control system with traction control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, a tire pressure monitor, and dual front, front side-impact and overhead curtain airbags. New is a standard Pioneer audio head unit with USB connectivity (including iPod and iPhone) and a subwoofer RCA output.
